W czwartek, tj. 7.09., o 2:14 czasu pekińskiego chińska rakieta nośna, Long March-4C (Długi Marsz-4C) wyniosła na orbitę ziemską satelitę Yaogan 33C. Yaogan wystartowała z Jiuquan Satellites Launch Center w płn-zach Chinach, dokładnie z obszaru pustyni Gobi. Wspomniany satelita należy do modelu teledetekcyjnego i ma za zadanie z poziomu orbity zbierać dane do badań naukowych, mapować zasoby lądowe i morskie, prognozować plony rolne oraz służyć przewidywaniu potencjalnych katastrof naturalnych. Rakieta „Długi Marsz” posiada masę startową 250 ton i jest w stanie transportować na orbitę ziemską, na wysokość ok. 700 km nad Ziemią, satelity o łącznej masie 3 ton. Opisywana misja była 41. wystrzeleniem chińskiej rakiety w bieżącym roku oraz 486. lotem rakiety z „rodziny” Long March, należącej do firmy China Aerospace Science and Technology Co.
On Thursday, September 7, at 2:14 a.m. Beijing time, the Chinese carrier rocket, Long March-4C, launched the Yaogan 33C satellite into Earth's orbit. Yaogan took off from the Jiuquan Satellites Launch Center in northwestern China, precisely from the Gobi Desert. The satellite belongs to the remote sensing model and is intended to collect data from orbit for scientific research, map lands and sea resources, forecast agricultural yields and predict potential natural disasters. The "Long March" rocket has a launch mass of 250 tons and is capable of transporting satellites with a total mass of 3 tons to Earth's orbit, to an altitude of approximately 700 km above the Earth. The described mission was the 41st launch of a Chinese rocket this year and the 486th flight of a rocket from the Long March "family", belonging to China Aerospace Science and Technology Co.
